What exactly is Hyrox?
Hyrox is a fitness race format: 8 x 1 km runs alternated with 8 functional fitness stations, in a fixed order:
- 1 km run — SkiErg 1000m
- 1 km run — Sled push 50m (152 kg M / 102 kg W)
- 1 km run — Sled pull 50m (103 kg M / 78 kg W)
- 1 km run — Burpee broad jumps 80m
- 1 km run — Rowing 1000m
- 1 km run — Farmer’s carry 200m (2×24 kg M / 2×16 kg W)
- 1 km run — Sandbag lunges 100m (20 kg M / 10 kg W)
- 1 km run — Wall balls 100 reps (9 kg M / 6 kg W)
Total: 8 km running + 8 stations. Open-category average finish: 75-110 minutes. Elite finishes: under 60 minutes.

What a Hyrox training week looks like
Example for an athlete targeting sub-90-minute finish:
- Monday: Lower-body strength + accessory (squat / hinge focus)
- Tuesday: SkiErg / rower intervals + sled push/pull technique
- Wednesday: Easy aerobic run 6-8 km (zone 2)
- Thursday: Upper-body strength + farmer’s carry + burpee broad jump technique
- Friday: Tempo intervals 4×1000m + wall balls / sandbag lunges
- Saturday: Mini-Hyrox simulation (4 runs + 4 stations) or long run
- Sunday: Mobility / recovery
You train 2-4 sessions per week 1-on-1 with us, plus self-led sessions using a plan your trainer designs.

How many months in advance should I start?
For a first Hyrox race: minimum 12 weeks of focused prep (3 months) if you already have a base level of fitness. For sub-90-minute target: 16-20 weeks. For sub-60 pro qualification: 6+ months of specific programming. We assess your starting point during the free intake and build a realistic timeline.
Do I need to be already fit to start?
Not necessarily. We’ve coached Hyrox clients who started with 5K times over 30 minutes and zero wall ball technique. The question is: how many months until your race? With 6+ months we can build from a base level.
Do you offer duo / team Hyrox training?
Yes — duo personal training is a strong option for mixed or single-sex doubles. We work tag strategies, station splits, and transition speed together. See our personal training page.
Which Hyrox events are in the Netherlands / Europe?
Hyrox hosts events in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam), Germany (Berlin, Köln, Hannover), Belgium (Brussels), UK (London, Manchester), and worldwide. We advise on which race fits your level and planning.
How much does Hyrox coaching cost?

Can I combine Hyrox prep with regular personal training?
Absolutely — Hyrox prep blends naturally with general strength and conditioning. Many clients start with general PT and switch to Hyrox-mode 12-16 weeks before their race. See regular personal training (English).
